With fall just around the corner, I wanted to let you know about a local trail race put on by the Penticton Pounders that we support — The Summerland Sweets XC race on Sunday September 24th. This race has a lovely combination of Trans-Canada Trail, single track and dirt roads with a sampling of the Devil’s Sandbox at the end to make it an enjoyable race.
Awards are a selection of wine from Sleeping Giant Winery, jams and fruit leather from Summerland Sweets. There will be donuts and apples afterwards and draw prizes from the Starting Block. For the 7.4K racers there will be a draw for a New Balance pair of shoes along with a draw for an entry to the Larry Nicholas 8.2K race the next week in Kelowna! Each person in the 7.4K race will be entered into the IRA XC Series draw at the end of the series for a $250 Gift Certificate to one of five selected running stores!
